This Lord’s Day we were reminded that “The Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true…”
We have been enabled to understand, not just “truth," but to know "Christ who is truth.” This Friday we gather to grow in knowing Him more intimately through understand how Jesus fought temptation. I encourage you to come, it will be worth your time. Busy is a word that is way overused in our culture… ;)
We’ll be covering chapter 5 (Resisting Temptation) of Ware’s book. This chapter is the original article that Ware wrote that resulted in the writing of this book. It’s the most popular one.
We will be meeting at the church office. So please look at the attached images to know where to enter and where to park.

Office details:
-Enter from the back (blue arrow)
-The church office is on the second floor. You will see the stairwell straight in front of you as you enter through the back entrance.
-If you want to park in the back, you can only park in the designated areas (green line). Please please do not park where the red x’s are in the image. If you park in the back, you have to leave before 7:15am. So if you plan on sticking around for a bit longer, you should park on the street.
-See the image for "2 hour street parking.” Green lines on S & 6th. There should be ample street parking, just keep an eye on the time.

Discussion -
The question this chapter will help us answer is, “If Jesus was sinless and unable to sin, then where the temptations that he experienced real? And can He really be an example for us to follow when it comes to fighting temptation?”
  • I want you to make notes of the comments and quotes that you like in this chapter.
  • If there is something confusing, mark it down.
  • If you have a question (or many questions), write them down and you’ll be able to ask the group.
  • Has this chapter changed your thinking on Jesus’ temptations? How?
  • How were Jesus’ temptations different from yours?
  • Does this chapter help you understand why Jesus’ perfect life is so important to our salvation? How?
  • How does this change your approach to fighting temptation?
Honestly, this isn’t the easiest chapter to read. So read slowly, take notes, process the info, underline stuff, and you will benefit from it. Also, whenever Ware uses the term “Impeccability” it means the sinless, faultless, perfect nature of Jesus.
May the Lord challenge us this week and make us more refined men of God!
