Dinner for Eight

Looking for an opportunity to get to know more people at City Bible Church? We invite you to participate in Dinner for 8 on September 5th at 5:00PM for a great time of fellowship and breaking bread! You can register to attend a dinner group or host one at your home. Host homes are expected to provide a main dish and the attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish, salad, dessert, or drinks. Make sure you register your families or anyone you need to be in the same dinner group with together. Saints! Join us in praising the Lord for what a blessing our TYG Camp was! Earlier this month, our teens went to Hartstone Bible Camp for a survivor themed week. Our campers enjoyed camp activities, games, crafts, skits from each group of teens, and awesome sports. More importantly, the week was centered on God's Word. Each cabin spent time in Bible fellowship studying the Psalms and gathered daily to hear sermons about humanity's need for rescue and how God has graciously provided salvation through His Son, Jesus Christ. We are thankful for the week the Lord gave us and pray that the truths taught at camp will continue to bear fruit in the lives of our teens.

Please pray that this camp bears fruit in the lives of the teens and creates even more opportunities for gospel truths to be shared in this next year of TYG.

Union Gospel Mission

This Monday at 7:00 PM, CBC will be heading to Union Gospel Mission for a wonderful opportunity to share the hope of the gospel with the homeless men and women of Sacramento. Every fourth Monday of the month, our church has the privilege of leading the worship service at the shelter and ministering through worship, fellowship, and the proclamation of God's Word. We rejoice with Gregory Thyberg, Isaac Rumschik, Ruth Hullette, and Roman Krikunov as they publicly professed their faith through their testimonies of Gods redeeming work in their life and were baptized. It was a joy to witness God's grace at work and celebrate together. Please continue to pray for Gregory, Isaac, Ruth, and Roman as they grow in their walk with Christ. Greetings from Emerald Crossing! Last week, 197 lads and lassies joined us for our journey through Psalm 23! We got to learn about David; the shepherd boy turned Israel’s king who experienced our Good Shepherd’s grace, mercy, and guidance through times of peace and times of hardship. We crafted lanterns and whistles that display our Lord’s guiding light in the darkness and mimic our Shepherd’s call. We got to expend some energy playing the most extravagant games!
Our nursery team got to enjoy the week alongside us as the iconic highland cows, serving our littles with so much love and joy!

The Lord was extremely kind to provide 150 amazing volunteers, who served beforehand and during our week in Ireland. Thank you for serving so sacrificially CBC family! We are already looking forward to next year and praying the Gospel seeds planted this week take root and grow.

July Evangelism

This month, we have outreach at Saylor Lane on July 3 at 5:30 PM and at Planned Parenthood on July 22 and July 29 at 11:00 AM. Saylor Lane is a local skilled nursing home where we visit residents to offer care, encouragement, and the hope of the gospel. Planned Parenthood is a place where matters of life and eternity are deeply present, and we seek to lovingly share truth, compassion, and the hope found in Jesus Christ. Kids Bible Camp begins this Monday! We ask for you to please be praying as we prepare for a wonderful week of ministry that the Lord would be glorified. Please pray that the Lord would uphold the camp, bless the teaching of His Word, and use the week to draw children to a greater knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.

Handling Cases of Abuse Biblically

Abuse can affect anyone, and sadly, it can sometimes be present within homes, relationships, and even churches. Because these situations are often hidden, it is important for believers to be equipped to respond with wisdom, compassion, and biblical truth. Join us this Sunday, June 14th, for a two hour gathering as we watch a special biblical counseling lecture on understanding and responding to abuse from a biblical perspective.

Following the lecture, there will be a time of Q&A to discuss practical ways to care for those who are suffering and to consider the hope that God's Word offers in difficult situations. Lunch and fellowship will begin at 1:00 PM, and the lecture will start promptly at 1:30 PM in Room 201.

CBC! We are just 12 days away until our grand Irish adventure begins! Kids Bible Camp at City Bible Church starts June 22nd and we are excited to welcome children ages 5–11 for a week of fun, fellowship, and learning about our Good Shepherd. From June 22–26, campers will join us each day from 8:45 AM–12:15 PM for games, crafts, songs, yummy treats, and engaging Bible lessons.

As we journey through the rolling hills of Emerald Crossing, children will discover the goodness, care, and love of our kind Lord, Jesus Christ. Through the teaching of God's Word, we will point them to the hope of the gospel and encourage them to grow in their knowledge and love of the Savior who laid down His life for His sheep.

Premarital Class

Whether you are engaged or preparing for marriage in the near future, sign up for this six-week premarital class starting on July 5th at 1:30 PM in room 208. As part of the wedding preparation process at City Bible Church, this class is required for all couples who desire to be married by a CBC pastor. The next class will be offered January 2027 so please plan accordingly!
