Missions Update

Missions 4

Hello Church! Our missionaries wish to share updates of their many blessings, joys, sorrows, and specific concerns so that we can join them in prayer.

Gus/Melissa Pidal (Leon, Spain):

Without question, the Lord blessed us with a calling to serve Him in one of the most beautiful countries in the world. We have ministered in our local church for eleven years, with Gus serving as a dean of students in the Berea Seminary. We loved the many opportunities to visit and serve like-minded churches all over Spain. Indeed, it has been a privilege for us to come and serve Him here in the Iberian Peninsula.

However, after much prayer and counsel, we believe the Lord wants our family to return to the States this summer. It has been a tough decision since we genuinely love it here in Spain. Nevertheless, we feel this is the best long-term decision for our family. Please pray for us as we make this huge transition. Our boys do not remember life in the States, and they see themselves as Spaniards more than Americans. We love our church family here in León and have considered it our home for a long time. Now, we must prepare for a series of bittersweet goodbyes.

So, what is next for us? In His extraordinary providence, the Lord has directed us back to one of our supporting churches, Faith Bible Church in Laguna Niguel, CA. We are excited for Gus to join the staff there in the fall as an associate. Please pray for our family during this transition and our boys' salvation. Also, praise God for the forty-five students and graduates in the Berea Seminary!

Gins

Alan/Bev Ginn (Asia/South Asia):

Praise the Lord for fruitful travel and training in Bangladesh. At the last minute, God made arrangements for us to go to India in March and conduct a total of five training events with pastors in both countries.

Also, the Lord has drawn us into several online training opportunities. We ask for God's continued blessing for the ongoing, 2-hour Zoom training program every Saturday with 35 Nepali pastors in Mideast United States. Likewise, please pray that God will open a door for us to organize a similar online training event with twenty more pastors this summer in East Asia.

RU Missions

David/Alesya Andrusyak (Ufa, Russia):

We ask for the grace and opportunity for church planting in Ufa, Russia, especially to reach Muslim-speaking Bashkir and Tartar people. Many people are coming to the house church because of the war. Sadly, they lack many daily necessities. Pray for funds to help these people, as sanctions affect more people in Russia.

There is also the possibility of going underground as a secret church. However, we are unsure of the Lord's direction in this matter. Pray for us as we seek His guidance in this and whether we should apply for permanent residency to stay in the country.

South Africa

Kyle/Hannah Davis (South Africa):

Give thanks to the Lord! We have a new place in Scarborough with a one-year lease. Also, pray for a home church in South Africa and Kyle, who has two exceptional opportunities as a translation consultant: one in Ethiopia and another in Tanzania.

Family Dedication

Last Sunday, we celebrated with several of our dear church families in the dedication of their new family additions. We are delighted to rejoice with the growing church; and, as a church family, we commit to the following:

  • Praying and supporting these families
  •  Fulfilling the one another's with these families as prescribed in God's Word
  •  Recognizing these children as follows:
    • They are precious in the sight of the Lord (Matt. 19:14).
    • They are people for us to love and support.
    • They are souls in need of Jesus.
