In fact, dating is one of the most obvious areas where Christians have blindly followed the path beaten by the world. But God said: 

"Do not be conformed to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you will prove what the will of God is, that which is good and well-pleasing and perfect." (Romans 12:2, NASB)
